At https://git.geomar.de you can reach the web ui of the GitLab instance hosted at GEOMAR.

At its heart GitLab is a toolbox for software developement, build around the version control system git. It includes project management features, continious integration and deployment (CI/CD) tooling and a container registry.

It is most helpful when developing software projects, but is also well suited for infrastructure as code (IAAC) projects and can be quite useful during research projects, e.g. to track progress via issues, collaborate on data analysis or the writing process.
