SEG-Y File Format
We need to implement the SEGY file format to show seismic curtains. As a first approximation we can either display the curtain as points, but later on it would probably be nice to create a triangle-based subdivision surface and plot the data onto that.

Problems I can see so far:

find a simple way to do regional point sampling without too much effort, this will be a lot of points -
terminology: what is a trace, what is a poststack, where is the difference between a 2d poststack and a 3d poststack -
how do we actually calculate the depth of the individual samples? By time and the two sound velocities given?
